EmpowerHer Life Foundation Joins the Global Stage: Second World Summit for Social Development
With profound honor and deep gratitude, EmpowerHer Life Foundation is proud to share a historic milestone in our journey of empowering women and girls across Africa. Our Co-founders Dr. Leonard Besong and Diana Pasha have been officially invited to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development, taking place from 4–6 November 2025 in Doha, Qatar.
This high-level Summit, convened by the United Nations General Assembly, will bring together Heads of State, governments, international organizations, civil society, academia, the private sector, and the UN system to re-commit to the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and accelerate momentum for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Thirty years after the first Social Summit, the world gathers again – this time at a moment when inequalities, demographic shifts, and rapid technological and environmental transformations demand urgent, united action.
For EmpowerHer Life Foundation, this invitation represents more than recognition – it is the fruit of resilience, dedication, and an unshakable commitment to our mission: to empower underprivileged women and girls through access to education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, digital inclusion, and human rights advocacy. Our accreditation by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) gave us a seat at the global table. Now, our voices – and the voices of the communities we serve – will resonate in a forum where the future of humanity is being redefined.
As we prepare to join world leaders in Doha, we are reminded of our “why.” We believe that social progress is not a privilege – it is a fundamental right. Every girl deserves education. Every woman deserves the tools to break free from poverty. Every community deserves dignity, equity, and inclusion.
The Summit’s core themes – poverty eradication, decent work, and social inclusion – align seamlessly with our projects in Kenya and Africa. From addressing the digital divide for women and girls, to creating sustainable solutions for poverty reduction, to championing youth integrity and anti-corruption, our work is proof that grassroots action and global policy must walk hand in hand.
This moment belongs not just to us, but to every woman, every girl, every young leader, and every community that has inspired our journey. Standing on the global stage, we carry with us their dreams, struggles, and hopes. Together, we are proof that change is possible when vision meets resilience, when advocacy meets action, and when voices long silenced are finally heard.
The Second World Summit for Social Development is not just about recommitment. It is about reimagining humanity’s future. EmpowerHer Life Foundation is humbled to be part of this transformative dialogue – because we know that the world we build tomorrow starts with the actions we take today.
The future is inclusive. The future is just. The future is now.
