This October marked a defining milestone – one year since the EmpowerHer Life Foundation was officially registered on October 4, 2024. To honor this anniversary, we didn’t celebrate with cake or candles – we chose to live our mission.

Through our Pads & Purpose Project, our team visited Sprouts Again Children’s Home carrying menstrual kits, maize flour, clothes, blankets, and snacks – but what we truly carried was hope. Twenty girls from vulnerable backgrounds sat before us; each one, a story of courage and quiet resilience.

Among them was Beatrice, who whispered softly, “I want to be a nurse, so I can help other girls like me.”
And Destiny, whose voice trembled as she said, “I just want to finish school… “So I can make my mom proud from heaven.”

In that moment, the room fell silent. Every face glistened with tears. Because this was more than a donation drive – it was a restoration of dignity, a rebirth of dreams, and a reminder that hope still lives in the hearts of those who have the least but give the most.

For these girls, missing school during their menstrual cycle isn’t just an inconvenience – it’s a life-altering barrier. Without access to menstrual products, they miss up to five school days each month – nearly 20% of the academic year lost. It’s a cycle that perpetuates dropout, early marriage, and generational poverty.

Through Pads & Purpose, we are breaking that cycle.

We provided:

  • Menstrual kits to ensure dignity, comfort, and uninterrupted learning.
  • Maize flour, clothes, blankets, and snacks for nourishment and comfort.
  • A mentorship session on self-worth, academic excellence, confidence, and leadership.

But what truly made this visit unforgettable wasn’t what we gave – it was what we received: perspective. A renewed understanding that empowerment begins when a girl is seen, heard, and given the tools to rise above her circumstances.

This is why EmpowerHer Life Foundation exists. To remind every girl that she is seen. That she matters. That she can become everything she dares to dream.

One year in, and this is just the beginning.

Because when we give purpose to our impact, we don’t just change lives – we change generations.
