OUR REFLECTIONS FROM THE SECOND WORLD SUMMIT FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN DOHA QATAR: A NEW CHAPTER FOR EMPOWERHER LIFE FOUNDATION
The Second World Summit for Social Development (Doha, 4–6 November 2025) was more than a high-level global gathering – it was a reminder of why we choose this work, and why integrity, justice, and inclusion must sit at the heart of development.
Standing in a space filled with world leaders, heads of state, UN representatives, civil society leaders, policymakers, changemakers, and youth delegates, we felt an urgent truth:
real development is not a policy ideal – it is a promise to humanity.
We attended in our dual capacity as Co-Founders of EmpowerHer Life Foundation, carrying with us the communities, women, girls, and young leaders whose voices often go unheard. Walking into the halls of the Summit felt like stepping into history – into a space where global development was not being discussed abstractly, but redesigned with urgency, collaboration, and compassion.
The central themes – poverty eradication, social inclusion, and decent work for all – are the heartbeat of communities across Africa, and they mirror the work we’ve dedicated our lives to. Yet what moved us most was seeing these themes anchored in a powerful political commitment: The Doha Political Declaration, adopted on the first day.
For us, that declaration was not just a document.
It was a promise – a promise that development must serve dignity, that justice must be accessible, and that humanity must remain at the center of global progress.
The conversations in Doha challenged us, reaffirmed us, and expanded our vision. We spoke about the silent impact of corruption on everyday opportunity. We shared our belief that digital inclusion is not a privilege – it is a pathway to freedom, knowledge, and economic mobility. We listened to voices from across continents echo a universal truth: women and youth are not beneficiaries of development; they are architects of it.
Carrying Kenya and Africa With Us
Every room we entered, we carried our people with us –
the young woman searching for a chance,
the girl fighting to stay in school,
the community waiting for digital access,
the youth demanding integrity in leadership,
the underrepresented voices that development so often forgets.
We represented EmpowerHer Life Foundation, our growing organization dedicated to expanding opportunity for women and girls through education, digital literacy, economic empowerment, access to technology and advocacy.
Our Commitment Going Forward
As co-founders, we left Doha with a shared vow:
To turn global conversations into grassroots transformation.
To turn declarations into action.
To turn hope into systems.
To turn visibility into opportunity for others.
And we will continue building – one woman, one girl, one community at a time – with integrity, courage, and the unwavering belief that social development belongs to everyone.
This is not the end of our Doha story.
It is the beginning of a new era for EmpowerHer Life Foundation.
An era grounded in service, powered by purpose, and strengthened by every person who believes in a world where no one is left behind.
